Trump Tests Positive for COVID-19

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” This was the tweet President Donald Trump sent out late night on Thursday.

Since then it has been confirmed both Donald and Milania trump do have the virus. They are both said to have contracted it through a meeting Trump had with Hope Hicks, a political advisor for his campaign. Currently we don’t know much about the condition of anyone infected, but according to CNN, Trump has been hospitalized at the Walter Reed Medical Center and should begin some form of treatment right away.

This sudden news came as a shock to everyone, and it’s not very hard to find out why. For months Trump has tried to downplay the disease and even criticize those who followed the guidelines from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). These guidelines included the recommendation of wearing a mask in public which Trump openly ridiculed Joe Biden for on last Tuesday’s debate. Given these facts, it’ll be interesting to find out if Trump’s coronavirus positivity will have any effect on the upcoming election.

In any case, I hope this whole ordeal, as awful as it sounds, will shed some light on how real the threat of COVID-19 is. And act as a warning and reminder to social distance and always wear a mask while going out in public.
