Top 10 ways to improve your morning routine

Some people enjoy waking up early in the morning and some people despise it. Either way there are many different things people can do to improve their morning and have a positive mindset for the rest of your day. Here are 10 different things you could do to improve your morning routine.

 

  1. Prepare the night before, getting something done you’d usually do in the morning can save some more time for other things.
  2. Have a set time to go to bed each night so your sleeping schedule stays consistent
  3. When falling asleep each night, putting your phone or alarm clock across the room will help you avoid hitting snooze and sleeping past the alarm.
  4. Once you wake up, immediately hydrating will help you begin your day. When you first wake up you’re most likely dehydrated and drinking something like coffee instead of water will not replenish you.
  5. Stretching in the morning is also a great way to wake up your brain and begin your day. It may feel hard to do if you’re rushing to work or school but taking a few minutes to do some yoga will enhance body flow.
  6. Eating breakfast at around the same time each day is important to maintain your consistent schedule. Eating the right foods each morning to get the right nutrients is also important to fuel you for the rest of the day, and keep you from getting tired in the afternoon.
  7. Staying off your phone throughout this time will also help you stay focused on what’s important and reduce the chance of you getting side tracked.
  8. Planning what you’ll be doing throughout the day. This will help you feel more prepared and make your day less stressful since you know what you’ll have to do and when they’ll need to be done.
  9. Listening to more upbeat music will leave you with a positive attitude and mindset for the rest of the day which will decrease stress overall.
  10. Do something that makes you happy. This could be something small like playing with your dog, or listening to your favorite song, or writing in a journal. Self care is very important to stay positive and enjoy the rest of your day.
