It feels like just yesterday the Los Angeles Lakers were walking away with the 2020  championship in the bag. But as of Friday, NBA basketball is back in action. Five preseason games were played all across the country and players already excited basketball fans with some outstanding performances.

In the first game, the Orlando Magic barely beat the Atlanta Hawks in an 116 to 112 point victory. Standouts from the game include the Magic’s Dwayne Bacon who scored 14 points, very odd seeing he wasn’t even a starter on last year’s roster.

The second game of the day was another close one with the New York Knicks taking the win against the Detroit Pistons 90 to 84. Since these are preseason games, starters were given restricted minutes but last year’s Rookie of the Year contender R.J Barret managed to put up a high of 15 points in 29 minutes.

Shortly after we got to see the Houston Rockets take on the Chicago Bulls in a high scoring matchup of 125 to 104. Demarcus Cousins, a former all-star center acquired by the Rockets this offseason, managed to put up 14 points in just 15 minutes.

Later in the evening we got to see the most anticipated matchup of the Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers. The Lakers came out on top in a 87 to 81 victory with Montrezl Harrell leading the team with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
