Government officials contract Covid-19

After the President’s aid, Hope Hicks, was diagnosed with Covid-19, Trump tweeted that he and the first lady also tested positive for Covid-19. A quick disclaimer: no matter what political stance you take, it is inappropriate to celebrate someone contracting Covid-19.

In less than 24 hours of his diagnosis, President Trump was airlifted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Trump´s physician, Dr. Sean Conley, gave an update on the president´s condition, saying he is ¨doing very well.¨ So far, the public has also been told that the President will be staying in the hospital for just a few days. The likelihood of the President surviving is looking to be very high.

After the President tested positive for Covid-19, many other government officials tested positive. The incubation period for the virus is about 14 days and can be asymptomatic, so people who were at recent events with the infected have a high chance of contracting Covid-19, especially since there were few mask wearers at these events.

Following CDC guidelines and wearing a mask is extremely important during the pandemic. Masks do protect you and the people around you, but only if everyone wears them. Stay safe Spartans.
