COVID Halloween

COVID Halloween

For this year’s Halloween, guidelines have been made for how to participate in the holiday while being safe from COVID-19. Traditional trick or treating won’t be possible, but other options are available.

Trick or treaters are required to wear a mask or face covering items. People handing out candy will have to leave candy out in a grab and go sort of fashion.

County officials recommend staying home and celebrating by watching a movie and carving pumpkins, or having a car parade. This year’s Halloween will be different but people can still celebrate it in fun ways.

The county of Santa Barbara will be providing their own alternative this year with a countywide virtual contest parade. Residents can submit a photo of their costume to the county, winning costumes will then be shown in a televised parade on Oct. 31. Having fun this Halloween is still possible, just remember to be safe!
