On the green with Karli Lundberg

Orcutt Academy senior Karli Lundberg has been playing golf since she attended Orcutt Junior High School in 2016. Since then, she has played all four years on Orcutt Academy High School’s varsity girls golf team. Lundberg has been breaking records this school year and continues to do great things for her team.

Lundberg was introduced to the world of golf by her father. “I had always seen my dad going off to golf with his coworkers in tournaments, and so I guess that is what got the ball rolling,” Lundberg shares.

Lundberg’s greatest accomplishment among this season’s records has been her new record at Rancho Maria. Lundberg’s previous stroke of 46, has been replaced with her new and improved score of 40 strokes. On the topic, Lundberg reports, “I’m super happy with this one because as of now, it is the lowest record for any of the courses.”

Lundberg has been scouted since her junior year of highschool, although she isn’t completely sure of what the future holds for her. Education is much more important to her and playing golf among her four years of college would be an added bonus.

Lunberg states, “I would love to play [golf] in college if the opportunity were to find me. I will always take the college that will educationally give me the best opportunity in the future, but I would love to be able to continue playing competitively.”

Lundberg explains that the sport has given her many different opportunities to travel to new places and meet new people, which is something she is incredibly grateful for.
