With fall comes new activities and items to try out, here are the top 10 things to look forward to this autumn.

 

  1. Visit a farmers market: Farmers markets are a fun way to get out and try some new fruits and veggies. Autumn is the perfect time to try squash, figs, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, and corn.

 

  1. Go to a local fall festival: In Orcutt, many local schools host fall festivals open for the public. You can take your friends, win some carnival games, and even participate in a cake walk.   

 

  1. Carve a pumpkin: Pumpkin carving can be hard at first, but once you master it the results are awesome and the creative possibilities are endless.

 

  1. Go apple picking: Apple picking is an enjoyable activity that you can do with your friends and family, plus you can eat the apples after. 

 

  1. Eat all the seasonal foods: This time of year, many brands and stores come out with fall themed foods which are a must try. Trader Joes is especially known for their line of fall foods, such as pumpkin O’s and pumpkin ravioli. 

 

  1. Wear big sweaters: I love wearing big sweaters year round, but the cool weather is coming, making it the perfect time to get cozy in an oversized sweater or hoodie. 

 

  1. Watch spooky movies: Fall is the perfect time to cuddle up with your boo and watch your favorite scary movie, like the classic Hocus Pocus.  

 

  1. Try out Starbucks pumpkin pie spice latte: Every year when fall comes around, Starbucks comes out with their famous Pumpkin Spice Latte. You better get it soon before the latte goes out of season. 

 

  1. Pick up some fall scented candles: Warm your house up with crowd favorite scents like hot chocolate, pumpkin, autumn leaves, or apple pie. 

 

  1. Go to Avila Barn: Avila Barn is the perfect place to visit when you have spare time on the weekend. Enjoy tractor rides, yummy food, farm animals, and exceptional produce.
