Double the Christmas, double the fun
What is my family’s Christmas tradition you may ask? Well, in my family, we have no unique traditions. We do the traditional Christmas activities such as getting a tree, eating Christmas foods, and opening presents on Christmas Day. The only thing that may be different about my Christmas compared to other people, is that I celebrate the holidays three separate times. So the Christmas tradition I have is that no Christmas is alike.
My parents are divorced, so that means I get to do each Christmas activity twice; once with my mom and once with my dad. It’s not such a bad deal: two trees, twice as many decorations, there’s really not much to complain about. My siblings and I celebrate with my mom on December 23rd, with my dad on Christmas Day, and then for a third time on the 26th or 27th with my grandparents.
Holiday season for me may be hectic and unpredictable, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
