Cross country and girls’ golf update: September 20th, 2018

The Orcutt Academy High School Girls’ Cross Country is starting this year’s season off great. At the Morro Bay Invitational meet, Senior Mackenzie Webb got the best time of her team: 23 minutes and 44 seconds. She was followed by sophomore Angelina Cangelosi at 25 minutes and 6 seconds, and senior Sierra Skinner at 25 minutes and 16 seconds.

The Orcutt Academy Boys’ Cross Country Team is also doing well. At their last meet, senior Zach Williams, running two and a half miles, got an outstanding time of 14 minutes and 31 seconds. In a different race, another senior Kaden Bennett ran 3 miles and got a time of 17 minutes and 41 seconds. A new runner on the team, sophomore Justin Stites, got a great time of 17 minutes and 50 seconds.

The OAHS Girls’ Golf team is having a great season. Karly Lundberg, currently the highest scoring player on the team, got a score of 48 at the Cabrillo meet, 58 at the Lompoc meet, and 51 at the all league meet. The team placed fourth at the league tournament, out of a total of seven teams. They lost by only one stroke at the last tournament.
