WARNING:

There are probably spoilers in here.

Deadpool 2 offers an exasperating thrill ride fueled by potty jokes and cinematic brawls but does not offer anything to differentiate it from its predecessor.

Without going into too much detail, this film is down right dirty. Fans of the previous film would expect this and relish it but those coming into the series unexperienced will undoubtedly find the comedy either enthralling or too overwhelming to enjoy. The movie is so saturated in low-brow jokes that it harms the overall scope of the plot at some points. Scenes and character relationships that should function as crucial plot developments are more than once delegitimized throughout the film just to throw in another joke about sex, body parts, or some actor that stopped being relevant twelve years ago. That being said, I do not mean to give off the wrong impression, the film is consistently hilarious and does not lack in the laugh department, but the bombardment of quips makes scenes that are supposed to carry some sort of emotional impact flimsy and hard to follow legitimately.

The area of the film that flows perfectly with Deadpool’s quirky comedy is the action scenes. Every fight scene is an elaborate carnival ride of fun, intricacy, and over the top violence. I get the scenes are so fast and there are so many small tid-pits going on in the background that I wouldn’t be surprised if a new discovery could be made each time you watch the film.

Deadpool 2 is just as over the top, violent, and raunchy as the previous film. While the film hits every nail on the head in terms of what made the original plot great, sometimes the outrageous comedy is too much and spoils an otherwise pivotal scene. I would not recommend seeing this film with Grandma or the rest of the family. The film has been in theatres since May 18th, check it out at the Edwards Stadium 14 in the Santa Maria mall.
