Cascading colors of unity
Formed to stray from scrutiny
This knowledge is not new to me

But I cannot comprehend
A government that sees no end
Yet refuses to apprehend
They don’t plan to mend
So a helping hand is what we must lend

I respect all 50 stars
But not all their scars

They cannot face the fact
Our home is not intact

We are on the verge of eradication
We should be preparing for evacuation
All the while, officials go on vacation
We must stop their ego’s inflation

Corruption
Deception
We let the government shape our perception
Not to mention
They only do it for the hefty pension
