Holiday PHEW Review

With the Holidays fast approaching, here are some things you need to do to get into the holiday spirit.

Play this: Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is a new app based on Nintendo’s classic Animal Crossing. It will surely get you into the holiday spirit, as in the game you try to give fellow critters what they want, as well as receive gifts from them in return. The goal is to make an amazing camp and try to get a bunch of people to come stay at your camp as well. Likewise, you can level up by helping out campers and increasing your friendship levels with them too. What’s better than getting ready for the holidays then gift exchanges, decorating, having friends come stay with you, and being nice by helping others?

Hear this: You can’t get ready for the holidays without first listening to the classic “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” by Gene Autry. This holiday favorite is a great song that tells the beloved story of everyone’s favorite reindeer, and is a good message on acceptance and holiday cheer as well.

Eat this: As you’re doing your Christmas shopping, you should definitely pick up some of Pretzel Crisps’ white chocolate and peppermint pretzels and try them if you haven’t already. These delicious pretzels are covered first in white chocolate, and then covered in chunks of peppermint. These treats are extremely delicious and are also extremely limited to the holiday season, so get them while you can!

Watch this: There are so many Christmas and other holiday movies out there but there’s one that it can’t be Christmas without: Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas. This classic is a sweet story about Emmett and his mother who are poor but both want to be able to get each other a great Christmas gift. The plot of the movie entails both mother and son secretly entering a talent show that has a large prize for the winner. Emmett wants to get his mother a piano and his mother wants to get him a guitar. Emmett pokes a hole in his mother’s washtub, the one she uses to do laundry with, (which is also how she makes her living) to make an instrument and his mother sells the toolbox that Emmett uses for odd jobs so she can buy material to make a dress. It’s a great story about both of characters risking their livelihoods to try and get the other the perfect gift during the Christmas season.
